Shabnam Lotfi

This Wisconsin-based immigration attorney began her legal journey in the most personal way—by helping her own husband, an international student at the time, secure a green card after their marriage. Experiencing the U.S. immigration system firsthand sparked her passion for immigration law, leading her to build a practice that now serves hundreds of clients worldwide. What began as a personal mission turned into a thriving legal career grounded in empathy, advocacy, and hands-on experience.

In response to the 2017 travel ban, she founded a grassroots movement called Immigrants United. The group gained 10,000 members in its first week and became a trusted source of support and information for immigrants navigating sudden policy changes. In 2018, she took her advocacy a step further by filing a federal lawsuit challenging the unfair implementation of the travel ban.
